October 18, 2014 Rio Airport Hotel, Lynx

I got back to Rio late last night.  I decided to stay near the airport, since I'd already seen too many butts, thongs and speedo's on the beach for a lifetime.  Also I did not want to fight the traffic back to the airport like the last time.
I plan on getting some sleep today and try and get caught up at posting my videos and pictures from the Amazon Trip.  I tried to record as much as I could but all to often I got caught up in the adventure and the scenery, I'd just forget about the documentation. On this trip, I'm trying to remember to record things and using an old Kaplan saying, "If its not in CVUE it didn't exist"  Only my Kaplan buddies will get the joke.
This hotel is one of the most no frills as it gets.  One towel, one wash cloth, one miniature bar of soap, one pillow(a sign says you can ask for another), TV with only 6 channels (all Portuguese), no hangars, no suit case stand, no water glasses, no iron/board, no hair dryer.  This is definitely just a sleeping place for travelers. When I did check in they did ask if it was for the whole day.  Apparently you can pay by the half day.  There is a restaurant that only has buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but included in your room charge.  They do have a pool, but with no towels, 2 chairs and 2 lounges and one rescue pole (no other safety equipment).

  1. I think all too often we get caught up in the frills of life and forget that we just need the basics!
