Well I got to sleep at 2AM last night and up at 10AM this morning. I go down the steep stairs, trying to avoid tumbling down, by walking sideways. I stop by to see the manager David, but today it is Chris, his partner. We discuss my plans about going to Paris on Tuesday morning and if I can leave my 60 lbs. duffel, since I will be coming back the following Saturday to this place. Not a problem, thats a relief. I really didn't want to lug that big thing onto the train and back. So I'll need to get out and buy a cheap carry-on, since I'm also going to need it to carry back goodies from my all my trips. So, I headed back to "Rodeo Drive" and found a Macy's type store and found a nice carry on for about $24E.
I also spent most of the day again taking pictures and walking into a few stores. I was too curious about the "coffee-houses" so I ventured across the doorway
of the Green House Centrum. David, the manager of the apartment, had told me that you were not obligated to buy any "product", so I ordered a real coffee at the bar. They had wi-fi as well so I brought out my I-Pad. The table next door was a group of five people (three guys and two ladies) and found out they were from Belgium. They all couldn't have been more than in their early twenties and on their way to la-la land by the facial expressions. We introduced ourselves and they really wanted to know about America and also about my trip adventure. They noticed I was listening to some music and wanted to know what I was listening to on my I-Pad. I obliged and I had some Doors on the earphones. The one guy said, who was the band? I said the Doors. They had never heard of them...
Apparently, some of these "coffee-houses" will let you queue up your play list on their systems. So, one of the young men went up to the bar with my I-Pad and ask one of the bartenders if they would queue up my playlist. He says sure. I had them play a 30 song playlist I had that included Doors, Rolling Stones, Sneaker Pimps, Cream, George Thurgood, Etta James and George Benson. After about 15 minutes, about five tables joined forces....must have been 20 people sitting around having a good time. Someone ask me how old I was...62. They must have thought this old fart was okay. After talking another hour, I was exhausted and I think the second-hand smoke might have been having an affect on me. So I walked out and back to my apartment. I fell asleep about midnight and woke up about 2AM realizing I had left my I-Pad at the "coffee-house". I got up, walked across the square and inside to recover my I-Pad. The guy at the bar looked at me strange. He said one of the people at the table took it and had left shortly after I did. He was very apologetic and felt bad that one of the young dudes ripped off my I-Pad. Well I hope he enjoys the tunes.
